I can’t say I have anything against Uggs per se. Unlike my sister, who refuses to have anything to do with the boots on grounds that they look like slippers, I once had a pair — they were warm and comfy to the point that I didn’t care what they looked like.
Irrationally, though, I have real problem with the Krauts here and their sudden insistence this year on wearing Uggs-knockoffs. And no, I can’t even blame the Krauts for wearing knockoffs… Uggs are expensive!
My problem is this…
I truly am beginning to wonder if these Krauts have forgotten what climate they live in. I mean… most days there is some kind of precipitation going on. And, last time I checked, Uggs/Emus/knockoffs were not akin to rain boots.
Uggs are nice in the snow. They’re nice in dry cold. Heck, they’re even not so bad in the fall and spring.
BUT!
Do you have any idea how long it takes Uggs to dry?!
They’re totally impractical for this sort of climate.
Which, I suppose is why the Krauts are wearing knockoffs — at knockoff prices, it’s much more realistic to own nine pairs so you can rotate them out while the other eight pairs take a week to dry.
*facepalm*
